Geno Joseph Lucchesi was born in South Range, Michigan in 1913 and was a graduate of Painesdale High School and Ferris State College with a degree in business administration. After graduation he joined his father, Caesar Lucchesi, in the wholesale-retail gasoline and related products business. During World War II he worked as a civilian flight instructor, teaching Air Force cadets for the Fontana School of Aeronautics in Minnesota.
